Literacy
Literacy development is a foundational skill which unlike spoken language must be taught explicitly. Strong literacy skills are important for academic success but also for the development of vocabulary, self-esteem and citizenship. Strong literacy skills are dependent on a number of areas, including:
Decoding words
Manipulating sounds
Vocabulary
Language ability
We provide in-depth assessment of literacy skills to identify the reasons why reading may be challenging. We use methods based in the Science of Reading to support a child’s literacy development.
Speech
We provide assessment of difficulties related to speech sound production and overall clarity of speech. These include delays related to motor planning such as Apraxia of Speech.
